Becoming More of Me and Loving Every Bit of It

This is 61. Peaceful. Joyful. Becoming more of who God created me to be.

Embracing This Beautiful Season of Life

There is something beautiful about reaching this season of life. I turned 61 today, and let me tell you, it feels good. Not because everything is perfect, not because life has always been kind, but because I have finally settled into the truth of who I am, and I am embracing it with joy, confidence, and gratitude.

I Understand “Becoming”

I understand exactly what former First Lady Michelle Obama meant in her book Becoming because that is what life really is. It is not a destination. It is a continuous unfolding of who we are at our core. And let me be clear, I love who I am becoming.

Gone are the days of squeezing into spaces where I did not fit in. I do not waste time trying to prove my worth or explain why I am walking away from things that no longer feel right. If it does not fit, I do not force it. If it does not bring peace, I do not entertain it. That is not bitterness. That is growth.

Fully Comfortable in My Own Skin

At 61, I am more comfortable in my skin than I have ever been. I have lived through seasons of doubt, insecurity, heartbreak, and loss. I have tried to be what others expected and worn masks to keep the peace. But not anymore. These days, I honor my womanhood, my age, my solitude, and yes, even my introversion. And I do it without apology.

Introverted and loving it. Quiet moments are where I hear God the loudest.

Do not get me wrong. I still desire companionship, long for meaningful conversations, and deep connections, but I refuse to compromise my peace.

I thirst for truth, not empty chatter. I crave authentic love, not performative gestures. Most importantly, I have an unshakable need to share God's love with others. After everything I have been through, His love kept me standing.

I Am Not Becoming Someone New

I am not becoming someone new. I am becoming more of who I have always been. Before the disappointments, before the heartbreaks, before life tried to tell me I was not enough. And every day, I learn that "enough" is not something I must chase. It is something I already am.

Who Are You Becoming?

So, I ask you. What and who are you becoming? Are you settling for less than you deserve? Are you shrinking to fit where you were never meant to stay? Or are you standing tall, walking away from what no longer serves you, and becoming the fullest, most authentic version of yourself?

My advice is simple: Embrace the journey. Learn from the hard places, but do not pitch a tent there. Celebrate the victories, big and small. Love yourself through every stage. And most importantly, never forget that God’s love is the constant thread holding all the pieces of your story together.

I am 61 years old, a woman of faith, and I am becoming more radiant, peaceful, and grounded every single day. And guess what? You can, too.

Happy Birthday to me! Please help me celebrate, and let’s keep becoming. Boldly. Beautifully. And without apology. Because the best version of you is already in there, just waiting to shine.

Are you ready to embrace who you are becoming? Share your journey in the comments. I’d love to hear how you’re growing, letting go, and living free!
